UDMA66 cables have one broken wire - you can usually spot it as a small
section of wire absent in the middle of the cable. That allows drives to
detect what kind of cable they're working with. If they don't see a
broken wire they will assume it's a 40-way cable and will not go higher
than UDMA33. I would imagine the drives still allow the extended command
set to be used in that situation but I don't know.
