[ILUG] Re: Problem connecting to Internet.

[ILUG] Re: Problem connecting to Internet.

Can anybody help me with the following problem? I am using Windows98 and
Mandrake 7 on the same machine. Everything worked fine (including StarOffice
and ICQ) until recently, when I had to reinstall Windows. I then reinstalled
Mandrake. My problem now is that even though I have no problem connecting to
the server (Esatclear), using Mandrake; I cannot access the Internet or use
Netscape or Mail Client. I also tried Fetchmail but got no results. If I try
any of these programmes there is no change in modem activity at all. It
seems that the programs are not connecting to the modem.
When I try to access my e-mail, I get a pop-up window with the following
message:
"Account: Eugene O'Leary.
 In OPEN:
 The server was not found."
The problem is that the programme makes no attempt to look for the server as
there is no change in modem activity. (I use an external modem). Any
suggestions?

Eugene O'Leary.
