[ILUG] A possible use for the ILUG's money?

[ILUG] A possible use for the ILUG's money?

....make Debian a "Major Player" in the linux market.
I was just reading theregister, and I came across a news item
(http://www.theregister.co.uk/000418-000014.html) which quite surprised me
in the fact that it didn't make it to slashdot. Apparently, Debian aren't
being allowed to exhibit at Linux Expo 2000 over in the UK
(http://www.itevents.co.uk/exhibitions/Linux/) because, being a non-profit,
voluntary organisation, Debian won't pay for a stand. Yet still Linux Expo
2000 is advertised as having "Over 80 exhibitors including all the majors"

Okay, so I can't see the ILUG giving them the money to Debian to allow them
to put on a show, but this just goes to show how much Linux has been taking
out of our hands and become a commercial vehicle. It would be nice for
someone to sponsor them.
