Hi,
X freezes on me maybe once every one or two days (which is seriously
annoying after a while :) ), though I can telnet in from another
machine to kill X. It seems to happen when I resize (or perhaps move)
windows. First thought is the window manager (sawmill - or sawfish as
it's now going to be called) I wouldn't have thought that the window
manager could hang X. Second thought: I've esd running and it seems
to be affected by resizing the windows (i.e. mp3s skip slightly when
resizing), could this cause it?
I'll probably upgrade to Xfree86 4.0 but before I start downloading,
does anyone have any suggestions/ideas?
Possibly relevant software:
Mandrake 7.0
Xfree86 3.3.6
Matrox G400
Helixcode gnome and sawmill (freezes occured b4 these were updated)
Aureal 1 Soundcard (beta driver)
Thanks,
Alan.
