[ILUG] KMail half working.

[ILUG] KMail half working.

John Gay johngay at eircom.net

I finally decided to try KMail, now that I've installed KDE on my Linux box. As
you can see, by getting this mail, the outgoing mail is working fine. But I
can't say the same for incoming. I have the incoming mail set to
mail1.tinet.ie, with the proper username and password. But when I try to check
my mail, it says there is no new mail, even though I have left unread mail. I
have also set it up NOT to delete the mail, at least until I can check it
properly. I have been reading up on fetchmail, sendmail and diald. I am hoping
to set up my old 486 as a gateway to the Internet and to take care of mail
during non-peak hours, while my daughter uses her P133 and I use my PII 350. I
even tried setting up fetchmail to check the mail, but it also says there is no
new mail for me. Can someone who is familiar with Eircom mail send me an
example .fetchmailrc file till I see what I'm doing wrong? It's nice to send
mail, but I hate having to use the web interface to read it.

Thanks for all the help.

Cheers,

	John Gay
