You can get winelm for win32 and use elm under linux (don't run them
simultaneously, though). If you wanted to be a complete nutcase, I'm sure
there's an email-reading mode for emacs. Also many modern tools will
compile on other platforms or you could recompile your favourite email
client under cygwin.
