[ILUG] Kernel 2.3.9 will not bring up eth0

Nyurg. If you want a development kernel, you should really be using
2.4.X (2.4.0-test11 is the latest). And in any case, 2.3.9 isn't the
newest 2.3 on the esat ftp server - there's 2.3.10 through 2.3.51, and
2.3.99pre1 through 2.3.99pre9.

Basically, unless you have a particular need for a particular version,
you should either be on the latest stable kernel - 2.2.17 - or the
latest development kernel - 2.4.0-test11.
