Hi,
I have just set up a server (RH6.2) which is a gateway for a linux network,
this machine dials up (manually) and collects mail for the domain and
provides IP masquerading for the LAN. The problem is that on booting the
server the IP routing table looks like:
/sbin/route:

default p133.dermotgorm 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0
the default route being thru eth0. When a ppp connection is made i cannot
ping any internet IP address. However, when i do a
/sbin/route del -net default
the default route thru eth0 it is removed and ppp will then work fine, i.e.
become the default route. The problem is - how do i permanently remove the
default route from the table ?as a reboot simply brings me back to square one.
