[ILUG] xscreensaver

I have come accross a weird problem with xscreensaver.

It will not accept a users password, the only way to
unlock it is using the root password.

I think this is related to using NIS to manage passwords
on the network.

The local passwd file knows nothing about the users in
question.

I can logon to the box no problem.  As far as I can see
it is only xscreensaver that has a problem.

I have done a quick search on the net and can't find any
mention of this.
