[ILUG] RH 6.2 install 'stops'

[ILUG] RH 6.2 install 'stops'

Hi,

I'm trying to install RH 6.2 onto a Compaq DL360 [1]. The machine is a
twin PIII-800, 256MB RAM, Integrated SMART Array RAID with Intel
Etherexpress PRO NICs. The hardware is, according to Compaq and Redhat,
fully supported. [2]

I've been following their instructions [3] to the letter as far as I can
tell but the install stops at 'Performing port-install configuration'
(which is just after it install your chosen packages) and doesn't
do anything else.

The install log stops after the list of all installed packages. The box
is still up and responsive - I can use the shell on VTY2 and see that
nothing doing anything; load ave. is zero and no processes are in a
running state.

Has anybody got any ideas what to check? I'm quite stumped.

james
