There is an alternative
http://sweb.uky.edu/~mabran3/linux/misc/
Everything you need to get RedHat 7 working on quite a few ATA66 and
ATA100 controllers, including the HPT370 chipset used on the KT7.
Also at the site is an earlier release for RedHat 6.2 that doesn't quite
have the broad range of support of the 7.0 version but it's still useful
if you've got a BP6 or something and consider RedHat 7 to be a little to
risque.
Both releases use kernel IDE patches available in
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/hedrick
Paul.
