No, it's not that simple because Justin wanted to put the myid values into
the other file, but thanks to perl, it's nearly that simple. This
perl -lne 'while (/id="(.+?)"/g) {print $1}' INFILE >OUTFILE
will do it, and I've a grudging suspicion that the while is superfluous, but
how to autosplit given the requirements is beyond me at this hour of the
night.
