Kinda-ish. Intel broke the CPUID numbering pattern without
really telling anybody. Hence "old" kernels in distros
don't detect CPU, hence no boot.
The Register give a good slagging to Intel, about why they
haven't figured out howto let the Linux kernel people
know about their new CPUID scheme.
