I downloaded a webalizer-2.01-06-linuxelf-bin.tgz file and put it up in its
own directory.
- Realised I couldnt unzip it, so unzipped it at home on my rh7 box last
night, and uploaded the .tar file.
- Realised I couldnt un-tar it (!) so I did that at home as well, and
uploaded the individual files.
- I tried to execute webalizer but no joy, so I did the usual ./webalizer
and /htdocs/webalizer/webalizer stuff but no joy. - I forget the exact error
message, but it was like it was not executeable. - I did a chmod 700 and 777
but no joy.
I also tried to 'sh webalizer' and 'ksh webalizer' .. (doh !), but no joy.
What am i doing wrong ... (bearing in mind my newbie hat)
The only thing I can think of is that when uploading with gFTP all the file
types were binary, but I thought this was only for the dos-unix text file
cr-crlf stuff ?
Any ideas ?
