I got an ATI Xpert2000 32MB AGP card when I was building this machine
in August. Like you, I was looking for good 2D, so didn't want
to spend too much on a fancy-schmancy 3D card. This was UKP 53.50
from Scan at the time.

I think you will need XFree 4.01 to drive this card.

The ATI site rates this card up to 1600x1200x85Hz. The Xpert2000 Pro
does 1920x1200x85Hz.

In summary, it does the job I want and does it well. The XFree4 drivers
seem to be rock solid as well.

Later,
Kenn
