[ILUG] Linux box cannot be seen from a different subnet + http problem

[ILUG] Linux box cannot be seen from a different subnet + http problem

Folks,
What am I doing wrong?? I have RH7 installed on one box and it works fine
except for two problems.

The first problem:

The box cannot be seen from another subnet. The Linux box is setup like
this...

IP: 10.5.160.11
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.5.160.1

The machine thats trying to hit it is running Win2k and looks like this...

IP: 10.5.156.84
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.5.156.1

Any ideas?

The second problem:
"httpd stop" appears to have no effect at all. It just doesn't stop the
server. Making changes to httpd.conf has no effect either. I've changed the
DocumentRoot with on actual effect. It still looks in the old location.

Any help would be great.

Regards,
   Derek
