This is why I recommend using a tld like '.home' or '.zedsdead' for
internal/home networks...

#Subject: [ILUG] clash of local domain with web site
#
#
#Hi,
#
#My local domain at home is xyz.com and works fine, postfix
#distributes mail
#fine and ip masquerading is setup. The only problem is i have
#a web site
#www.xyz.com out on the internet. When i try to access it from home, my
#internal DNS is looked up and gives an error "not found". How
#do i configure
#it so that www.xyz.com is looked up on the internet and not
#locally first. If
#i had an ip address i could probably try put it in /etc/hosts,
#but i don't.
#The same problem happens when i try to connect to ftp.xyz.com.
