got a wee problem here and I can't get to freshmeat[1] to see if there's
anything nice there to help me.
I have a box here that uses DHCP and being the lazy sod that I am, I want
to work on it from my desk using ssh. Any idea how I'd get the IP address
of this box over to mine every time it boots?
I had thought of a simple shell script to grep the output of ifconfig eth0
for "inet addr" and parse that output for the IP which would then be
transferred to my machine using scp. The only problem is the parsing.
Any ideas?
