Well, I used to be a tar man, as Liam suggested, but I switched to cpio when
the old tar 100 character pathname limit bit me a few times. I'm doing it
this way for years, so blame it on inertia - like why people still use vi
when there are real editors available (let's end the year with a bang :-) )

Anyway, will cp -a drill down into other devices, whether you want it to or
not ?

Just downloaded 3.5.29 for 2.2.18 - must upgrade this box.
