It's not random (see my earlier message) but it is a PITA - devfs ! devfs!

P.S. CD to CD copying is a good way to waste blank CDs, IMHO. If you get a
problem reading the source, as may happen with dirt/scratches, then you've
blown your blank (spoken as somebody who just threw away 2 CDs because of
this, and I paid for those blanks myself :-( (Suffering from European
taxpayer funding withdrawal symptoms :-) )
