Morning,
Well I'm only about 4 yrs behind everyone else, but I put quake on my
machine last night (was really bored) and its works grand. Problem is when
I'm playing my mp3's thru xmms and I try to run quake I get:
Sound Initialization
PackFile: ./id1/pak0.pak : gfx/conback.lmp
/dev/dsp: Device or resource busy
Could not open /dev/dsp
S_Startup: SNDDMA_Init failed.
Oh, yeah I'm running RH6.1. So I read the thread about /dev/dsp that was
on the list a couple of weeks ago, but in that case they wanted to release
/dev/dsp. I don't want to, as I want to keep playing the mp3's.
Is there some switch for quake.x11 to tell it not to use any sound at all?
Laters,
Dave
