Hello!

I am pretty new to the linux operating system. But I am currently undertaking a
postgraduateship in IT.

Recently I installed Linux REDHAT on to my system at home and found that
Graphics Card is not being recognised by the system.

At the moment I have a black screen to work with.

The type of my graphics card I have is ATI Rage 128 Xpert 99 (16mb).

The above chip is implanted on the motherboard.

I tried various combinations during the install process but nothing worked.

I tried the xf86config, But I don't know what my RAMDAC is and what the
clock setting is. So I hit return as the I was direct and tried to probe the
system. The Xprobe failed and the system crashed when I tried "startX".

It is slightly boring to work in the dark.

If anyone from iluge has any advice or access to rpm file or can assist me.

Please mail me <satbinder at eircom.net>.

Your help will be much appreciated.

Ps. Could anyone tell me how(what command) I can use to edit the device section
of the xf86config file.

Thanks!
