Or to a nice mailer like postfix :) Granted I've never configured it,
but it has just worked for me so far.. as has exim...

sendmail built from source is okay, once rpms/debs/tgzs are involved I get
very scared and run away...

 Doesn't excuse the fact that the man's code looks like something written
in 1980, before advanced programming concepts like "libc", "comments",
"indenting" and "readability" were invented.

 The Qmail package, reliable, efficent and secure is ridiculously over
complex to setup, and if you have a typo in one of dozens of config files,
the thing can stop working, stop logging, and leave you with out a clue.
The fact that UIDs are hard-coded into the source means that you can't
develop on another machine & copy binaries onto another one, without first
checking that all the UIDs are the same. 

 It gets a 4/10 from me. People, if you think sendmail is bad, try do
something useful with Qmail. Then you'll run screaming back to sendmail.
