It's probably a simple thing like not having pressed 'Apply' (or whatever
the button is labeled) before moving on to the next screen / testing ...
Although I have to agree with your later comments about the newbie level
still being a bit too technical for most, who can't even install windows /
word / office * without calling a helpdesk, I have seen marked improvements
in the latest versions of installers, and can only see that trend
continuing. I wonder if we'll all abandon Linux for the 'Next big thing'
when it gets to plebian level though ?
