Bloody hell, not again...
Troubleshooting:
1. Can you connect to a local web server (e.g. your ISP's
home page?). If yes, local ISP connection OK. If no,
ILUG CAN'T HELP YOU.
2. Can you connect to any other site in US (e.g lwn.net)?
If yes, international connectivity OK. If not, ILUG CAN'T
HELP YOU.
3. So, /. doesn't work but LWN does. Either /. is down, or they
don't like you, so they are blocking your connections.
Either way ILUG CAN'T HELP YOU.
