not sure about this as I recall having a few probs using netscape folders (without subfolders) in pine which uses an mbox format, I couldn't find a reason & ended up copying messages to an imap server somewhare as a means of transferring stuff.

well it's definately fast to start & display
as a buggered up example, mua's as used here by me fein are
mutt from coolmail, pine in a term & eventually popped into Netscape for archival purposes.
