many raid controllers have regular scsi host chips on them, in addition to a
general purpose CPU. Eg DAC960-PDU has 3 53c870 chips, and an i960. Newer
Mylex's use StrongARM, older Compaq's use AMD 29k. Effectively the raid
card is a mini computer.

possibly because the driver in the kernel is old and lacks support for 3200.
you'll need to get the newest driver,
http://www.insync.net/~frantzc/cpqarray.html. It should support dual 3200's.
