Yep, my boss does this for RIPE as part of the European hostcount; has
done for years. RIPE publish the stats monthly and every now and again
we graph the results to http://www.heanet.ie/heanet/services/hostcount/
Lately though he's seeing a lot of AXFRs refused. He and I would really
appreciate if zones in .IE would allow transfers to ns.hea.ie
[193.1.193.194]; it's fairly nonintrusive and done overnight once a month.
Also, Bill Manning of ISI does a quarterly audit of the reverse name
space; you might want to allow transfers of your in-addr.arpa. domains
to 192.9.160.57 and 198.32.4.13.
All the best,
Dave
