I have to say the two I have in winboxen get sustained 800kB/s+ to the
intel ether express pro on my debian box via ftp (not simultaneously).
Like 3c509s they fail miserably in PnP mode, but in jumperless mode
(configured via ge3setup) they work very nicely.
One problem they've been known to exhibit is that they seem to go into
full duplex mode for no good reason when installed so they clash like mad.
If you set them back to half duplex they behave themselves very nicely.
I think I paid £30 each for them about 2 years ago.
