Most 486es I've seen had 16450 UARTs, which lack the FIFO and hence won't
provide much speed. That can be easliy remedied by buying some el cheapo
multi I/O card with fast serial ports (i.e. 16550 UARTs), as I just
successfully did with an old 386.
