ok, i have a soft spot in my heart for the athena widgets - compared to
straight xlib it was very nice. but having xmessage pop up on a gnome
desktop is just, well, sad.
i'd be interested in trying to write gtkmessage but i'm not sure where
to start. in the x world there used to be this x skeleton program, is
there a similar beast for gtk? you know, here's your makefile, a main.c
that loads the bare minimum headers, initialises some data structures,
plays with xlib related commandline args, etc.
