One single nightmarish word for MySQL users: transactions. :-) It seems
that only one db is writable and the others are read-only clones of that
db. This ensures that there is no independent updating of the satellite
databases. The log method it uses is not one that I'd be comfortable
with but most of the applications for MySQL would not be extremely high
traffic. (I'm currently messing about with a MySQL based search engine
model for irishwebpages.com purely for speed.)
