There are some ways of doing it. Not cheap though. It's more like:
Parallel ----> External box
IDE drive in the external box.
They tend to emulate some version of scsi over the parallel port (Iomega do
it for definite).
You may find the bare boxes available, but whether they'll work or not under
linux
is a different matter...
