I'd Imagine that once the Subject more or less describes what you're
trying to advertise that it'd be fairly well accepted provided:

#1 It's more of less Linux/Unix in General related 
#2 that it doesn't spawn a big massive thread which will prompt some
"popular people's front of Judea" list splitting ideas.

I'm sure that there is some some form of a guideline on posts on the web
site somewhere.
