Some infor for REd Hat 6.1 on a tosh 7020CD and 2 general questions :-
Question 1 :- I installed Red Hat 6.1 on the Tosh which already had Win 98
running. During the installation routine (Gui version) I deleted an empty
partition not in use by Win 98 and added 3 new Linux Partitions. It all
worked fine. But I was unsure how to select the empty partition. Win 98 uses
c:, d:,e: and f: I knew e: was empty and wanted to use it. When I got as far
as disk Druid I saw the partitions but they were labelled as Devices HDA1,
HDA5, HDA6,HDA7. Qestion : How do I know which one mapped to c:, D: e: etc.
I guessed it was HDA6, but is there no way of confirming this ?
Question 2: I have to install Red Hat 6.1 on 8 identical PC's (600Mhz, PIII,
128Mb, 6GB HDD, running NT). Any tips on how to do it quickly ?
Info: I installed Red Had 6.1 on a Toshiba Portege 7020CD with docking
station. It worked fine. For info I had to use Xconfigurator after the
install as X would not run due to errors with the video I selected during
the installation. Using Xconfigurator I selected a 'Non-Interlaced SVGA
1024x768 @ 60Hz ; 800x600 @72hz' and it worked fine.
