This may sound dumb,

I'm embarassed to say I had a problem getting my HP Deskjet 694C working
with SuSE 6.3 on a Compaq Presario 7240 ... why? <blush>

I forgot that with kerenls 2.2.x the printer port is now /dev/lpt0 and
*not* /dev/lpt1 as it was in the 2.0.x kernels, DOS, etc.

I wish this was all you needed to do (and selecting the proper printer
package for apsfilter - hit the HELP function key in the YaST menu!).
