[ILUG] I hate LILO

[ILUG] I hate LILO

Right, I have now installed RedHat 6.1 on this machine, but the only way I
can successfully boot it so far is from a boot disk. I have looked at the
lilo.conf, and it appears just fine, but when it starts to boot it just
goes:
L 02 02 02 02 02 02 02 02 02 ........
and so on.
I even tried adding the linear option, same result.
I then tried chos which I ripped off my Suse 6.2 CDs, and that started
working, but then locked up after recognising the secondary ide
controller. (The primary isn't being used)
The machine is a HP Vectra XU 2*Pentium Pro 200 with an Adaptec AIC 7880
SCSI controller.
I'm about to try and compile a custom kernel to see if that helps, but if
anyone has any other suggestions, I'm listening.
Thanks,
	David.
