OK -- but in this case they're using bad patents as a weapon, and the
consumer will not benefit from it. It's not in the spirit of fair
competition on an even playing field.
There's a good article in (IIRC) Red Herring last month about this;
apparently the "robber barons" of the last century used exactly the
"bad patent" technique as well. Well worth a read!
