Hi,
The bug with the machine not shutting down, sounds like the kernel
may have oopsed, but stayed up, I've seen before where it oopses and just
won't shutdown, so the best way out is the Magic SYS-RQ key, if it
works... Alt-SYSRQ-S, ALT-SYSRQ-U, and ALT_SYSRQ-B, in that order might
restore life, or it may cause another oops..
also why does RH6.1 disable magic sysrq on bootup .. very annoying ..
