Aha. At last someone gets it. The patent office will happily go about
its business while company X wipes out company Y, or customer J stops
buying from company A, and pay it no mind.
It's something like nuclear disarmamanet - it's better to take the
weapons away (reform the patent office) than to have individual
countires (companies) sign nonagression pacts.
