A local user here wants to buy a (not further specified) AST laptop,
1996 or 1997 model and put Redhat on it. I went through the ilug list
archive, but couldn't find anything relating to AST. Has anyone here
installed Linux on such a beast?
My biggest worry was support for X, but that should be ok according
the XFree86 web site (it uses some Cirrus Logic GD754x chip). And I
guess that, considering its age, all hardware should be supported
(CD-ROM, floppy, PCMCIA etc).
