did you recompiler the modules as well as the kernel ?
Looks like you Q may need the modules, seems you have them for
network cards, cdroms and possibly scsi devices. The line below
will compiler and install the modules. Do this from the kernel
source dir (/usr/src/linux) or whereever you compiled the kernel from.
make modules ; make modules_install
