As has been said you don't have to, but you can. There should be a perl
script called perlcc (/usr/bin???) that will compile the script into an
executable. It will be quite big though as it'll have the perl
interpreter in there as well, so it's usually best to leave it as it
is. Unless you want noone to see the code.
