Judge Jackson ruled that Microsoft is to be broken into two companies.
One will handle the windows OS and the other will handle the
applications. The breakup order is stayed for 60 days. It will go into
effect within 90 days unless stayed by a court of appeal. Microsoft is
guilty of violating anti-trust law and Gates was as evasive as ever on
CNBC preferring not to agree that M$ had broken the law.
I am still analysing the ruling (13 pages or so) and should have it
finished about 0230 or so and on the site shortly afterwards.
