Which kernel version do you have?
which kernel are you booting. Have you tried
cd /lib/modules
mv 2.2.14-5.0 test
cd /usr/src/linux
make modules_install
depmod -a
and such like. Problem 1 is that RedHat kernel comes with all
modules, so there will be loads of unused modules in there..
