RH4.2, that means the machine could have been on for quite a while,
what's the chance the filesystem is corrupt somehow, minuscule I know
but..
What if someone deleted the redir command but it was in use by some
other process. AFAIR the space isn't freed but the filename should
disappear although that isn't the case here.
