Believe it or not I have only ever got one virus and I was fairly easily
removed. All anyone has to do is beware of anything suspicious e-mails or
files and update the DAT files of your virus checker fairly recently!
I tried using Netscape, which worked brilliantly for incoming mail, but
would not work for outgoing mail as it tried to use authentication for the
SMTP server which is not required and would not work as a result.
We can not always choose which operating system we have to use at our place
of work. We all know that Linux is a far superiour operating system to
Windows, and is more secure, but because of the ease of getting developers
for windows and the shorter lead times (because of the RAD environments)
compared to Linux it will be used for another few years anyway.
