Subject: Proposed PHP/webdev list

Hi,

Excuse the offlist reply, I don't have my work address signed up to
ilug.

Anyway I think that your php list is definately a good idea, someone
mentioned the IIA lists, I was on one or two of those before, and to be
honest getting questions like what is a jpg was to put it politely a bit
annoying.

A dedicated php list might only got thirty or forty people, but it would
make a lot more sense imho than a "web design" list. Perhaps covering
servlets as well, or maybe calling it a web applications list would be a
better idea as most people who are asking questions about php on ilug
are developing inter/intra apps rather than a joe bloggs website which
is where most of the discussion on a lot of the lists I have seen before
seems to center around. I guess covering Oracle/MySQL etc could also be
an idea.

Just my .02cents.

l8r,
Fintan
