I apologise for being snappy Gary, but most smokers are *really* pissed off with
hearing comments like this:

Most smokers - of my age at least - know what we're doing. We're adults, and if
we choose to smoke, that's our decision. Most of use are resigned to not smoking
in public places, and we don't complain about that, so we would appreciate the
same respect in return.
People don't attack drinking in the same way, even though alcohol is a far worse
drug than nicotine. Smokers don't abuse people verbally, or talk rubbish
(because of the drink), or beat up their wives and families.
We don't have the energy.
Right, I think this thread really should die now.
