Ok lets agree on something here folks as we don't want a thread to spiral
out control here do we?
It's the general consensus that a webdev list be set up. If Linux.ie can
host the list that would be cool because we could work on the basis of
helping each other if that is acceptable. However I would not like to see
the time and effort of the Linux.ie team go wasted. I.E. I would not like
the list to start off great but then drift off into nothing at a later
stage.
As far as posts to the list I would not completely exclude commercial apps
myself. After all PHP does support Oracle and Sybase etc. As far as win 32
yes we should consider certain posts, but in fairness all of us here would
have a bit of cop on about posts. If we self regulate it, it shall be fine.
If a topic or thread is OT or becoming a nuisance then we kill it. Also we
should limit ourselves to dealing with a few specific areas e.g. Perl php
html apache and other web servers.
As far as a web site goes personally I would like one to be set up. Maybe
eventually with the aim of taking the load and work away from the ILUG team
but NOT losing our special close relationship as well as distributing code
and apps that we may have written for various platforms as well as
tutorials.
